Poker Fanboy Mode… *ON*

As alluded to in my post earlier today, I put in some extra time at work this morning. Today is the first day of our main event for the Bike’s Legends of Poker tournament, the one that’s affiliated with the WPT. I was there sitting at the registration tables, logging in anyone who paid with cash (as I’ve mentioned in the past, anytime we either take in or give out $2500 or more in cash in a single transaction, we have to log in the vital data of the customer).

Needless to say, I managed to catch a glimpse of a handful of, shall we say, “poker celebrities”. Fortunately, I wasn’t too star struck by their presence (it wasn’t even the first time I’d seen a few of them at the casino), but it was still pretty cool to see them walk in. I will say this: Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel and Allen Cunningham are really freaking tall.

Tomorrow I’ll be at the Gold Room window, which is cool because it’ll give me a chance to kick back after having been there for 12 hours today. Made some extra money (both in overtime and in tips), but I don’t think I’m going to want to do that again for a while.

    I didn’t enter, so no.

However, I do know that everyone had to sign a release form before they could even pay their way in (they had to show us the stub they got from the form), and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the release in question.

(In case the readers don’t know, several big name poker pros are suing the WPT for what amounts to anti-trust violations, forcing everyone to sign a form giving them the right to use their likenesses for any advertising, including advertising other products they may not have been aware of.)
